Being one of the most active social media channel, doctors are active in FACEBOOK. FB is being used for recreation for most doctors (consumers) and some of us use it for marketing (producers). Because facebookโs capabilities for doing business are so different from the personal FB experience, many doctors still donโt understand some of the basics behind FB profile/ FB Group / FB Page. We have this confusion of which is best for branding, marketing and enhancing visibility or engagement.
๐
๐ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐: this is what we all have. In simple words, it is just a personal account on Facebook. As soon as you register yourself on Facebook, you create your Facebook profile. The main purpose is to make friends, and engage in personal communication.
๐
๐ ๐๐๐ ๐: it is specifically dedicated to your profession as a doctor or as a Clinic / Hospital. FB users or prospects can follow these Facebook page by โLIKEโing them. Page owners can also use their pages for advertisements, contests, and relevant tasks to promote your clinic / hospital. To connect with patients, prospects and leads customers and for all your clinic purposes, FB page looks more professional than a profile. Fb page helps you to showcase a digital shop for your clinic. Small businesses can build a lot of followings on a Facebook page easily which is not possible on Facebook profiles.
๐
๐ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฎ๐ฉ: This is essentially used to create a community/ group of people with like-minded interests. It's a platform for people to connect and share information about a common topic of interest. May be a particular disease condition or a fan following your brand etc. If you want to build closer relationships with others through shared interests and goals, FB Groups is the best option
In short, an FB profile is for the people (personal) and an FB Page is for organisations/ clinic/ doctor and FB group is for building a community around you or your clinic. If your goal is to market yourself / your brand / your clinic, then you should create a Page.
๐ฝ๐๐จ ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ฃ๐ค:
1. You will not be able to send friend request to a business page. Facebook pages do not have friends, they have LIKEs.
2. You can only have one Facebook profile tied to your name, but you can have an unlimited number of business pages associated with the account
3. While you can decide who sees your personal Facebook profile by using privacy setting, your Facebook business page is public, so anyone can visit it.
4. Do not confuse your prospective patients by postings here and there, be aware of which account you're using to avoid confusing your patients
5. For profile there is no ranking or insights whereas pages have insights where in Facebook give suggestions on how to go about improving your clinic by enhancing visibility
๐ฆ๐ธ๐ป๐ญ ๐ธ๐ฏ ๐๐ช๐พ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ธ๐ท :
Do not use your personal Facebook profile or create a new personal profile for business purposes. It violates Facebookโs policies to use a profile for commercial or promotional purposes, and doing so will not only annoy your friends, it could result in Facebook deleting your account.
